The Board of Directors of the 119 Gallery is please to announce the appointment of Y Sok as the new Executive Director of the multi-disciplinary art space located at 119 Chelmsford Street in Lowell, MA. The orgnazation's previous director (and co-founder), Walter Wright, will step into the role of Chair of the Board.
As the organization moves into its 17th year of operation and its 4th year in the Lowell art community, the Board is confident in Ms. Sok's vision to engage and connect with an even wider audience. Outgoing Chair of the Board Felicia Sullivan said "We couldn't be happier with our leadership transition. We are so pleased to be able to bring Y Sok on board while keeping both founders (Walter Wright and Maryann Kearns) substantially involved in the organization."
Ms. Sok holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from the University of California Irvine and is a long-time patron of the arts. She is an active member of the 119 Gallery as well as an avid art collector. She brings this innovative and saavy business sense to the 119's eclectic mix of programming. Prior to moving to the Lowell area, Ms. Sok worked as an art dealer in a prestigious commercial art gallery in San Francisco.
