Curator‚s Report, Sunday February 18, 2007
The curator is quite distressed by the recent events at the gallery which
resulted in damaged artwork. (Summary: 3 Vivian Pratt prints damaged over 3
weekends, two intentionally!) She asks that the board write a letter of apology
to the artist. (This was Felicia‚s suggestion. The board may in turn ask the
director or curator∑..)
The curator further asks that the board make recommendations regarding what she
perceives to be „AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN,‰
i.e. passels of youth, bands and equipment through the gallery in a single evening.
The curator three suggestions:
1. Damage deposit in contract
2. Everyone must sign Contract (Including Events Producers)
3. Implementing STRICT CROWD CONTROL: Set a maximum number: -- i.e. 65
Use tickets at the door to count event attendees. After #[65] tickets are
distributed, no one else is admitted.
4. Max number of bands: 3
Finally, not wanting a reputation as a „danger gallery,‰ she asks the board and
specifically the director to refrain from discussing these incidents with persons
or parties who are not involved.
Yours
