11) Closing August ...

- Repair & refinish the floor.

12) Barratt/Pierce residency late August through September

- Claire & Patrick are taking over the gallery.

- We will invite individual artists/performers to work with Claire & Patrick.

- We will not schedule bands August through September. Perhaps we can find them another venue?

 

13) Next Meeting Sunday July 5. Y's camping weekend July 10-12.

The Green Building Initiative will end in May, 2009;
application deadline is Friday, May 29, 2009.

Environmental conservation – sustainable building practices, environmental stewardship and sound land-use planning – is a core value of The Kresge Foundation. Our Green Building Initiative advances environmental conservation by awarding planning grants for sustainable design.

Enterprise Community Planners/Green Communities

Enterprise offers grants to help cover the costs of planning and implementing green components of affordable housing developments, as well as tracking their costs and benefits.

Planning & Construction Grants
Grants up to $75,000 to cover planning and construction (http://www.greencommunitiesonline.org/tools/funding/grants/planning.asp) expenses including additional costs of architectural work, engineering, site surveys and costs associated with items such as a more efficient HVAC system, green materials and energy efficient appliance.

Charrettes Grants
Grants for up to $5,000 to assist housing developers with integrating green building systems in their developments and engage in a serious discussion of green design possibilities. Enterprise will award planning grants to affordable housing developers to coordinate a green design charrette (http://www.greencommunitiesonline.org/tools/funding/grants/charrette.asp).

Programs for Businesses and Nonprofits

Large Onsite Renewables Initiative
This initiative provides grant funding, through a competitive process, to assist with feasibility studies and design and construction of renewable energy projects, including wind energy, hydroelectric, and biomass energy. Projects must have an installed capacity of greater than 10 kilowatts and consume more than 25% of the renewable energy generated by the project onsite. Grant levels vary based on the characteristics of each project.
