Artists Contract
The Artist owns the art and agrees to let 119 Gallery exhibit the art. The Gallery shall not use the art for any other purpose than exhibition without the permission of the artist. With permission the Gallery may sell the art, price to be determined by the artist. The Gallery retains 30% of the sales price. The gallery agrees to introduce the Artist to the buyer.
The Gallery will work with the Artist to cover costs of packaging and shipping. The art should arrive at least 5 days before installation. 30 days before the exhibition, the Artist should provide the Gallery with a bio, a personal photo and photos of the work (if available), and a description of the art as follows -

Insurance value: any way to determine this ???
All 2D, wall-mounted art must be ready to hang, properly framed and wired. If a pedestal is required for 3D art the Artist should either provide pedestals or check with the Gallery. Video work and larger installations should be planned out in advance with the Gallery.
The Gallery does not store art. It will either be shipped back or will be picked up by the Artist with 5 days of exhibition close.
The Artist agrees to provide
The Gallery agrees to promote the exhibition as follows –
- Postcards, distributed locally and available in the Gallery,
- The Gallery will set aside (50-100) postcards for the Artist,
- Press release with the postcard will be mailed to local and regional press,
- Email announcement to members and friends of the Gallery.
Copyright: The Artist retains all right to reproduction of the art. The Gallery agrees to include the Artist’s name and contact info for all art that exhibited and/or sold.
Damage: The Gallery to reimburse the Artist for any damage incurred during exhibition of the art.
Failure to live up the terms of this contract: The Artist is free to pursue other means of recovering damages. The Gallery can recover costs incurred in promoting the exhibition and in rescheduling.
